Diamond Saw Blade Life Study


Part of the process of forming the ceramic "funnels" was to remove the top and bottom portions in the "green" or unfired state.  Due to the abrasive nature of the ceramic and the "sticky" nature of the binders of the "green" ceramics it was difficult to maintain the diamond saw blades.  The high costs of diamond saw blades justified studies to analyze a number of saw blade parameters: Diamond size and density, matrix composition, blade configurations, and other parameters were reviewed.  The conclusion of the study revealed the important  parameters that significantly extend the life and the cutting quality of the blades.
